Hessit Works Inc. began manufacturing concrete paving stones in 1988. Its owners Friedrich Naether, Idella Naether, and Brian Rice have concentrated product development to offer an exclusive array of concrete paving stones and garden wall blocks of the highest quality.
The blending of the professional backgrounds of its owners has always given Hessit Works Inc. an unique advantage in the industry.
Friedrich Naether’s family owned and operated a stone quarry and block plant in his native country of Germany. As a child, he learned about aggregates and concrete manufacturing, as well as production equipment operations and maintenance. Since most concrete paver manufacturing equipment is produced in Europe, Friedrich’s ability to fluently speak two languages has been essential to our success. Friedrich is the primary machine operator and spends his days in the plant, not behind a desk. It was in 1988 that he married his wife, Idella.
Idella’s higher education was based on Finance and Computer Systems. In the early years of the company, the primary parts of the operations were conducted using manual processes. Idella had the drive and skills to bring a new approach and successfully automated many of Hessit Works’ current operations.
To complete the core founders of the company Brian Rice was a charter member of the firm with a degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
